Jaime 1 is Torres’ top-of-the-line brandy, named after Jaime Torres, who founded the winery in 1870. The look of the unusual bottle is based on a design by the great Spanish architect, Antoni Gaudi (1852-1926). The brandy is a blend of soleras, from distilled Paralleda wines, some aged as much as 30 years, to which are added small amounts of 1972 eau-de-vie of Folle Blanche lees. For the connoisseurs of premium spirits, this is a true find. It is without question in the same quality league as XO Cognacs, vintage-dated Armagnacs or 18+ year old Single Malt Scotches.
